Charging Method

There are three basic methods to charge the PM BATTERIES according as conditions or applications. Battery performance and service life are greatly affected by the charging method.
1 . Constant Voltage charging
Constant voltage charging is the most suitable and generally used method for PM-BATTERIES.
2 . Constant Current Charging
This charging method is hardly used for PM batteries, but that is effective method to charge a multiple number of batteries at one time and equalizing charge to correct the unbalance among batteries. In charging with constant current, if the charging is continued to extend the period of time after the battery is reached a fully charged, be careful in overcharging which may occur a heavy damage to the batteries.
3 . Two-step Constant Voltage Charging
Two-step constant voltage charging is recommended for the charging method
of batteries in a short time, and support them with a full charged condition. This method is one of the most efficient because the recharge time is minimized during the initial charging stage. Also, the battery is protected from overcharge by switching over to float charge at the switching point A.
